Writing for Narrative Podcasts

  • My Writing Shed 716 West Main Street Peoria, IL, 61606 United States (map)

This Class:

Mary O'Reilly is here Friday, April 28th to teach you anything you want to know about writing fiction-based podcasts! Her hour-long class session focuses on explaining how to plot, pace, and execute a consistent story over multiple podcast episodes, as well as how to write with certain voice actors in mind. If you've ever wanted to tell a narrative story through the podcast format, be sure not to miss this fun and creative class!

What You’ll Need:

  • Online material may be reviewed during class, so bringing a device with access to the internet, such as a laptop, tablet, or smartphone is recommended.

  • A pen and notebook or laptop for taking notes.

  • A Writership, so you can register your spot in this class!

Meet Your SHEDucator:

Mary O'Reilly is a writer, director, artist, puppeteer, "voice actor," and an overly simplistic musician. She is the creator of Academicasaurusa fiction horror/comedy podcast.

During the show's four seasons, she wrote, directed, and edited all of the episodes while reliably forgetting to update the show's social media.

Mary sometimes creates under the name Haunted by Birds in an attempt to create an impression of organizational control rather than reflecting the reality of just one person doing a bunch of weird stuff. She can be found at @hauntedbybirds on Instagram.

SHEDucation is included with our Writerships! If you already have your BackSHED Pass, login to access the interactive calendar and sign up for this session.
